This text has several really informative introductory chapters covering the fundamentals behind US; physics, artifacts, positioning of the probe and handling. The content is ordered well for ease of use and with progressive difficulty so students can develop their US skills. The incorporation of pathological conditions, and specific case examples with how to make the diagnosis with example images is really effective. Key content is easily recognisable in highlighted boxes. Specialities included (neonatology, paediatrics, orthopaedics) allow for study of more intricate anatomy and use of US. I think this is an invaluable resource for developing US skills.
This book is modern, advanced and yet easy to read. A great bed side tool as well as classroom content. Very hands-on and practical providing an appropriate amount of theoretical knowledge.
supporting the awareness of POCUS in our critical care module. Although this module is no longer running we are looking to recommend the text as supplementary for a new module running at level 6 next year.
This book is ideal for students who will be actively using diagnostic ultrasound. Whilst not added to the core or recommended books for the Master of Chiropractic course at this stage, it is hoped that when the future years develop (level 6-7) it may be much more useful at that stage
