The Sobotta Clinical Atlas of Human Anatomy is tailored specifically to the needs of medical and health professional students.
It utilizes a regional approach for learning human anatomy that integrates core concepts of anatomical structure and function with modern methods of diagnostic imaging, cross-sectional anatomy, illustrations of real world functions, clinically relevant surface anatomy and key examples of how anatomical knowledge informs clinical practice.
The 'Clinical Remarks' and 'Structure/Function' sections provide important and easily identifiable practical examples, which reinforce clinical application of anatomical knowledge. Moreover, all anatomical images are accompanied by descriptive text and summary tables which serve to highlight the key concepts associated with each specific image.
Key features of the atlas include:
- More than 1850 anatomical, radiological, cross-sectional and functional images with clinically relevant labels give you a solid grounding in human anatomy
- Descriptive text provides you with additional information for all images
- Summary tables allow you to organize valuable key concepts
- The regional approach to anatomy enables you to place functional, clinical and cross-sectional images in context
- 'Clinical Remarks' and 'Structure/Function' vignettes give you a head-start in learning anatomy in a clinically relevant manner
- Surface anatomy illustrations equip you with valuable knowledge for your first physical examinations
- The perfect study tool for courses in medicine – as well as a range of other courses, including dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, kinesiology or the movement sciences and physician assistants
- A unique PIN code provides you with bonus access to a complete digital copy of your atlas

The diagrams are useful, high quality, and accompanied by clinical images or physical demonstrations (such as of muscle movements). Key facts are included in text boxes and are colour coded (and titled) to show what their relevance is (such as clinical facts, functional, etc)
The textbook works well as a supplement to classes for students. The research carried out within the subject has been supplemented with this textbook.
The hand-drawn diagrams in this text are beautiful and the detail is very good. There are successfully incorporated clinical images (endoscopy, radiography, laparoscopic views) which help reinforce the clinical relevance and significance of information and put it into perspective clinically. The layout and organisation of the content is suitable for ease of access, navigation and progressive learning. This is recommended as supplementary because have another text as core that is more universally recognised as the key text for anatomy. However, Sobotta Clinical Atlas is a great text and will enhance any course.

Very well written and illustrated atlas of human anatomy. It can be used as a major source of basic knowledge and as a good source of topographic anatomical relations. Sobotta’s Clinical Atlas of Human Anatomy is easy to handle and very friendly for orientation for the students and for the lecturers as well.
The atlas is very high quality, comprehensive, and is a recommendation for medical students.
Beautifully colored textbook which help visualy focus on clinical implications. It is good suuplement for my lectures.
The Sobotta Clinical Atlas of Human Anatomy by Hombach-Klonisch et al. is a well-written, well-organized and well-illustrated book that is also very concise and offers clinical remarks. Regarding its strong points, this atlas has superb illustrations (color figures, CTs, radiographs etc.) and contains numerous clinical remarks. This atlas should be recommended to all medical students. Regarding its limitations, not all important bones are shown as isolated bones in separate figures, e.g. the parietal bone, the ethmoid bone, the temporal bone etc. For example, the sphenoid bone is shown as an isolated bone in Figures 8.17 and 8.18. These bones that especially important also should be shown this way. This is, however, due to the fact that these bones are not shown as isolated bones in The Sobotta Atlas of Anatomy. Also the occurence of several other problems can be attributed to the fact that these illustrations that are used in this book were presented this way in this original source but this does not mean that this atlas is less important. On the contrary, this is a good book on clinical anatomy.
Excellent supplement of the Atlas of Human Anatomy Sobotta with clinical content. This book is entered in the mandatory literature for medical students and paramedical studies.
One of the most common used clinical atlas.
