Originally published as part of the McMinn anatomy atlas family, McMinn's Color Atlas of Head and Neck Anatomy remains the only large format photographic atlas of the human head and neck, incorporating outstanding dissections, osteology, radiographic and surface anatomy images. It is the ideal study aid or trusted reference for the range of students and practitioners who require a detailed understanding of the head and neck, including those in dentistry, radiology and surgery.
Dissections are accompanied by concise notes and commentaries, as well as orientational artworks to help readers locate the structure on the body. Dental anaesthesia information and important quick reference lists are also incorporated in appendices at the back of the book.

Very valuable book for visualising structures "for real" on cadaveric specimens with beautiful images of prosected material. However, it relies on the reader already having an understanding of the basic anatomy because there is little explanation accompanying the images. A few cross sectional specimens are included which are useful for helping students develop skills in interpreting cross sections and then transferring this knowledge to clinical imaging. The numbering system is really useful if students (or educators) want to test understanding and ability to identify structures, I find these useful during sessions once I have covered the material to check the students understanding. The inclusion of dental development etc is most valuable for dental students so for dental courses I would highly recommend this book. There is not that much content on for the brain so for neuroanatomy I would advise using another resource alongside this. So overall, for medical and dental courses, this book is so valuable for head and neck anatomy with very clean images of prosected specimens.
McMinns book is excellent as always. Brilliant pictures, with excellent level of anatomy descriptions.
A very good book for head and neck anatomy.
