Child nurses, students and nurses in training.
This is a fantastic resource for all children's Nursing students and have used this for a few of my modules as a resource.
This is a substantial textbook (it's surprisingly heavy for it's size!) which contains a lot of very useful information, but it strikes me as the kind of book which would be kept at the nurses station for staff to dip in to when they need to look something up. As a consequence, there seems to be a confused focus - is this aimed at students, registered nurses, registered adult nurses working with children? It's not clear from either the opening chapter or the blurb on the back. Some of the information would be obvious to a registered nurse as it is so simplistic, elsewhere, it is clearly aimed at nursing students, or even people considering applying to nursing. I wonder if it's trying to be too much? That said, it is a good textbook in terms of the clinical information it contains.
Reading list already published for 2020/2021 course but will add it to next years. However, have already started using it in lecture notes.
Useful tool for students
A useful addition to the reading list. many of the students have purchased their own copy too.
