Now in its 5th Edition this textbook is internationally acclaimed and endorsed by the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN). From personal experience of owning several editions of this text, its comprehensive coverage on highly relevant topics relevant to critical care nursing is outstanding. Owning several editions also allows me to understand the way the writers continually aim to update and revise information and content, so it stays at the cutting edge of critical care nursing practice. This new edition, only released in December, contains updated content on staple topics relevant to all critical care nurses. It also benefits from injection of lessons learnt on how critical care nursing practice expanded and met challenges in pandemic times, along with acknowledging the implications this has on our future practice. Chapters include holistic and person-care consideration, along with organ system-based topics. However, a key element to strengthen the connection between theory, research, and practice is the inclusion of elements such as case studies, research vignette and learning activities. A great textbook for any critical care nurse as they pursue postgraduate qualifications!
